I have a professional annual conference for the feild I am studying. It is taking place in NYC at a major hotel. I am not presenting at the conference, but I am going as a student looking to get more information (and NETWORK). I know they say for interviews, dress for the job you want, but should I wear a suit to this event? Or could I be more business casual (blouse with pants or a skirt)?

I would go with a business suit. You want to look as professional as possible, especially if your networking. You want to people to leave with the impression that, "wow this person looks like someone that could work for us." You want to stand out in peoples’ minds, but not over do it either, so like I said, a nice business suit should do.

I just realized I am missing the shoulder rank for my Class B shirt for an Army uniform.

The uniform for this conference event is Class B, but I would have to wear the Class A jacket because of the deficiency on the shirt.

That is more formal, but I can’t wear an improper Class B uniform.

Would you just not go, or see if anyone else shows up in Class A’s?? There are probably other events where Class A is required, but not at this particular session.
It is in the morning so I can’t go out and buy the right should things now.

You have only one class B shirt! How did you manage that? Class A’s are good for most occasions except actual planned events that name dress requirements. You can be written up for going in Class A to a Class B event.. Call your immediately superior NCO or officer and ask him

Will any of the journalist providing pre-configured question for Obama be missing from this press conference and if so will Obama figure it out before he calls on them?
What is the point of actually attending an Obama coordinated press event? Couldn’t they just hand out a QnA sheet to the news organizations who would normally attend? It is not like he is going to call on someone who has not been pre-screened!

I just hope Biden doesn’t ask Chuck to stand up again. Chuck was in a wheelchair.

I am finding it hard to find a event coorinator job within the west midlands at the moment. I work in Conference Operations and wish to move across to conference sales. i was wondering if anyone had any tips or websites where i could explore (apart from jobcentre).

you best bet would be to network directly with the top companies in the field!!! some may not have and opening today but tomorrow of there coordinators might quit and it would be nice to have you name in the hopper of available personnel!!

I’ve noticed that when I’m at a conference/event, for some reason the coffee at these evets is really good… unfortunately they serve it in tiny cups. Can someone explain how it’s made & why it’s so good. By good, I mean it’s fresh-tasting, nice flavour & doesn’t taste like gasoline.

Fresh, properly brewed coffee is delicious.

Stale, pre-ground, canned coffee (especially Robusta) is nasty.

Whomever is in charge of the coffee must be doing it right. You can make it just as well (or better) at home if you do it right. The link below shows my favorite way to make filtered coffee.
